The starting milestone of this trekking journey took us to the Deoria Tal, where we totally enjoyed and relished the charming beauty of Deoria Tal Lake while standing at 2438 m. This view is from the Chaukhamba Peak; this is where we captured the stunning and gorgeous views of the Deoria Tal Lake and its pristine, clear, and mirror-like waters. The trek trail leading to Chopta from here is completely enveloped in the lush, posh green meadows. This is such a beautiful sight to see. From there we reached the Tungnath temple, the highest shrine of Shiva in the world.

After few kms of walk to Tungnath, we proceeded forward with the trek. This is my favourite Himalayan trek because you get to see the beauty of the sunset in the most inexplicable way possible here. This is sheer brilliance and stunning thing ever in the world.

The place is amazing. I trekked Deoria Tal in February 2015. It was snowing all around, surrounding was chilly, but the experience was mind blowing. My experience of the place http://www.budgetyatri.com/2015/03/6-days-of-winter-in-himalayas-solo-2015_49.html

The Deoria Tal and Chandrashila Trek that I had gone to with my club members was truly majestic. The Himalayas has always been very close to my heart. From lush green meadows and verdant slopes to snow topped peaks, the jorney from Deoria Tal to Chandrashila has it all rolled up its sleeves. I was amazed at the variety that this place packs. The moss green trails which we took to go the distance actually make you think you are in an adventure movie. I am not a bird lover but I was thrilled to see so many birds of different origins nestle in this region. This is definitely worth a revisit!

It was my first trekking experience ever and I enjoyed it a lot. Only thing which can be improve is food quality which was average. Best was camping in nowhere and bonfire in the night. I had seen lot of different varieties of birds on this. My special thanks to our trek guide who guided us very patiently through out the trek as most us novice trekkers.

Trekking in chandrashila was too difficult for me at the beginning, but thanks to our tour guide, their instruction made it easy. The Deoria Tal has an elegant lake which looks wonderful as located in the nature's lap.

We visited the Deoria Tal last year with my office colleagues , we spend some really good time there. Overnight camping and trekking was quite adventurous. Thanks a lot guys . you made my trip memorable.
Round the year except monsoon will be highly suitable to do the Deoria Tal trek. The temperature will be modest and the days will be sunny and clear mostly except early mornings in winter. There will be a huge snow cover during the months of December through April.
During spring time, the trails through the forests will be covered with multiple flowers and in winter the snow will transform the entire region into white with some patches of green here and there.
Deoriatal Chandrashila trek is graded as a moderate trek. It makes a lot of sense to spend some time before coming on a trekking holiday getting some additional exercise. The fitter you are, after all, the more enjoyable you will find the experience. For this trip, you need to be aerobically fit and also comfortable with walking up to 7 hours on some days.

There are proper meals with subsequent nutritional values planned for the people coming in for the trek. This would include nutritional vegetarian meals, 6 small meals in the form of snacks and refreshments during coffee or tea breaks will also be provided. That is, all the meals from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 5 will be provided to the trekkers.
Carrying medicines is important while trekking anywhere in the world. Your first-aid should have anti-diarrhea medicine such as loperamide but make sure that you don't take it unless getting to a toilet isn't an option.
During the Deoria Tal trek you may not have access to pharmacies. So it’s better to have medications ready. Yes, you can carry diamox and can be taken too if having sickness/nausea.
Indian mobile networks do not work for most part of this trek. Vodafone and BSNL are the only mobile networks that work in patches along the way (but are inconsistent).
During winter time, the temperature ranges between -5 to 10 degree Celsius and the days will be fine and the night time becomes really cold. From August to October end, the temperature remains varying in between 4 to 23 degree Celsius.
Deoriatal-Chandrashila is graded as a moderate trek. Beginners can attempt this trek provided they stick to the fitness schedule and meet the health requirements.
You are likely to find snow on this trail in the months of December, January and February. Sometimes, you can get lucky and find snow well int March.
At high altitudes, temperatures are sure to dip into negative at nights, especially in the winter. For these extreme cold temperatures, you need to keep the rule of 3 in mind. The rule of 3 usually takes care of cold that dip to -10°C. It is a simple formula of wearing 3 layers of woolen, inners and lower wear.
Deoria Tal Chandrashila Trek is a moderate level trek. We will cover anywhere between 8-15kms a day barring the days left out for sightseeing, traveling and other tourist activities.
Depending on the campsites and guest houses, the toilets will be different. There will be toilet tents along each campsite from 2 to 4 toilet tents depending on the size of the group. A toilet tent will have a deep pit, mound of soil and a shovel to cover it up. Since these are dry toilets, make sure you are using the paper tissues which are easily biodegradable.
Yes, almost all the campsites coming on this trek are located near water sources and thus there will not be any difficulty in getting fresh Himalayan water. Two to three litres of water will be enough for each day and there are multiple streams and small water bodies on the way from Deoria Tal to Chopta.
Finding electricity charging points en route will be difficult after Sari. Hence make sure you call your relatives before-hand and let them know after Sari, it would be difficult to get your phones or power banks charged using electricity. Sari is the only place where you’ll get an electricity charging point.
