I joined a group of around 12 people from different states of India. All of them were coming to Ladakh for the first time. So the excitement was in the sky. We traveled through the hills and valleys. Many gompas or temples I think were there on the way. Hardly I saw the natives. At Leh only we saw people as a group in the market and all. I was surprised to see the height of Khardung La Pass and everyone was saying wow throughout. It is a brilliant place. The cold wind was always blowing. The guides helped us feel warm by arranging campfire at the locations we stayed. Food from the hotels was also good. I wish I can go this time also for the trip.

Ladakh is a magic. From the start to the end the whole location was changing colours, appearing different and what not. I could not believe my eyes. I am expecting this time also I can join any team like last year with my friends. Last year I bought some souvenirs from Leh and I keep looking at it to see the beauty of Ladakh. When we went the thick snow cover was not there but still it was cold. Seriously a good place.
The best time to visit Leh Ladakh is from May to October. It is approaching summer and during this time, snow has melted and the passes are clear, the days are pleasant with an average temperature of 25°C, which is perfect for sightseeing. At this time, Ladakh is celebrating a lot of festivals and the cities are decorated with flares and carnival vibes, which attracts a lot of tourists.
Ladakh is a home to more than 20 high passes that are formed by cutting one of the highest mountain ranges. La means Pass/ road in the local language and Dhak means numerous. Therefore the land of numerous high pass, is Ladakh. It is a home to Khardung La Pass, the world’s highest motorable road and Chang La Pass, the third highest pass in the world.
Ladakh is 1023 Kms from Delhi. You can reach Ladakh by road from Delhi from two different routes. One is Delhi to Manali and then Manali to Leh. The second route is Delhi to Leh Via Srinagar. The distance is 1055 kms, which will take 24 hours without any detour to reach Ladakh.
Monasteries that you can visit in Ladakh are:
