Thanks to the team of Thrillophilia for keeping the size of the group moderate. The entire group was of 10 people who loved the mountains. Our trek guide Santosh was such a good cook, we did not know. At a height of 14500 ft. I had the best Maggie in the mountains, cooked by one of us. Loved the view, the trek is definitely not easy, very tricky and steep at some points but if you are seeking for peace, seeking some green meadows and the serenity of the mountains, this deal is gold.

One of the best Himalayan treks I have ever done. The trail is loaded with vegetation and pretty flowers which earn it a rating of 5 on 5. Keep your mobile phones inside your bags, at Bhrigu lake the network is unpredictable but mostly there will be less or no connectivity. What is the use of a phone anyway at such marvelous location?

The only thing that made my first day on this trek rigorous and tiring was the long distance overnight traveling from Delhi to Mandi. We should have taken a day at leisure. We were four friends from Delhi who booked the Bhrigu lake trek through Thrillophilia a month prior. We booked a cab from Mandi to reach the Kolang village which was the base point to start the trek. As we reached there we met fellow trekkers and the trek leaders and after a small introduction and some morning snacks, we started on a day-long uphill hiking to reach the Mori Thatch campsite. And later the next day we hiked up to the lake which was a marvelous sight at 14500 ft above sea level. We made friends, talked at night lying outside the tents, watched and clicked stars and I believe more than the destination, the journey mattered and the entire trail was beautiful, we clicked hundreds of photographs.

Took trek to Bhrigu, from 19-22 October, 2019. We were group of four persons led by our guide Pawan. Started from base camp Manali on a bright Sunday morning. The jeep dropped our group at a nearby village, the strating point of our trek. Steep rocky mountainous path, mesmerizing river crossings, deep thick solitary jungle with wild flowers are hall mark features of this trek. The lake with its calm pristine waters remains covered with snow throughout the year. Bhrigu, is the name of their local god. One repeatedly gets to see the panoramic view of snow covered dhauladhar mountains. Overall a good place to visit. Thanks to the organizers for their hospitality, food and experienced guide.

There are many lakes in the Himalayas which have comparatively more to offer than Bhrigu but the trail that leads to Bhrigu is mesmerizing, you can’t stop clicking.

Bhrigu lake trek is one of the toughest treks for someone like me. My body weight is 95 Kgs and I had to mentally prepare myself to do this trek but I had a supportive company especially our guide and support from Thrillophilia sales representative. Despite my sluggish speed, my morale was boosted. Good trip!
