About the tour
The Maritime Experiential Museum located in the Resort World Sentosa of the Sentosa island in Singapore, is a first of its kind museum in the Southeast Asia region. The uniqueness of this attraction comes in terms of the exhibits of this place. The place is a knowledge filled space where you don’t gather the information by reading it off a plaque or by getting narrated from a guide who takes you around. The exhibits here make the experience interactive as you get narrated the story by the exhibits themselves. Not just that, the place even lets you try your hand at being a sailor of the wild seas in a chamber full of interactive exhibits.
But more than anything, the MEM is famous for being the home to Jewel of Muscat, which is a life size reproduction of the famous Arabian Dhow Ship. The exhibit is a gift from the Sultanate of Oman to the people of Singapore. And right next to the Museum is the famous S.E.A aquarium, which is home to more than 100,000 aquatic creatures native to the south eastern Asia region. Featuring large display aquariums and glass tunnels, the S.E.A aquarium houses animals like leopard sharks, goliath groupers and hordes of Manta Rays.
Spread in 10 groups containing almost 50 habitats, you can see several fishes and marine animals from various parts of the world. The Sea aquarium Singapore displays many endangered species like Hammerhead Sharks and Silvertip Sharks. But the main attraction of the S.E.A aquarium is the Open Ocean habitat which attracts a huge number of people to come and sit there to marvel at the magnificence of the whole sight.
Special notes
- Guests are encouraged to interact with and make full use of the multi-media exhibits
- Guests are welcome to take still photographs for non-commercial use only
