It is actually in the middle of the Binsar wildlife sanctuary spread. The main attraction of Binsar is the 300 km of majestic and panoramic view of Himalayan peaks from Zero point. Another interesting geographical fact about Binsar is about the terrain.

The slopes of the city have varying expanse and have developed naturally by the course of running water, making it perfect for good long nature walks and treks. The dense Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is the home of 200 bird species, Barking Deer, Himalayan bear, leopard, fox, musk deer, langur, porcupine, flying squirrel, chital, jungle cat etc. An entry ticket of Rs. 40 per person and Rs. 50 for a car has to be paid at the entry point of Binsar.

Pithoragarh

Fondly called as Little Kashmir, this city is the largest in the hills of Uttarakhand. The city shares its boundaries to our neighbouring countries, Nepal and China. At an elevation of 1650 metres above the sea level, this city is geographically a 5 km long and 2 km wide valley.

This is where the pilgrims start their holy journey to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar shrine. In the outskirts of the city, over the top of a hill stands the magnificent Pithoragarh fort famous for its historic importance and ancient architecture. There are 2 temples in the vicinity worth visiting.

One is the Thal Kedar, a Lord Shiva temple situated around 15 km from the main city. The other one is Dhwaj temple located at around 4 km from the main city. Askot sanctuary and Munsiyari are also some spots in the city where you can roam around enjoying the natural habitat of different species of flora and fauna.

How to Reach:
There is only 1 direct bus (state transport) plying between Nainital to Pithoragarh. The minimum time a bus takes to reach Pithoragarh from Nainital is 4h 22m.

I booked Seasons Hotels By Xperience and it was an amazing stay, our room was well equipped with all the basic amenities. The staff members were very helpful they have greeted us very politely each time and have sorted all our problems. We have also visited the Naina Devi temple and the Naini Lake which is close to the hotel. The hotel was an excellent stay and recommended for family holidays. We arrived the resort around 11 am but the rooms were available at 2 PM and we do not wanted to waste our time so have kept our luggage and went for sightseeing. The lake was around 2 km from the resort. It was a picturesque view with greenery everywhere enough to take our tiredness away. Back to the resort for relaxing. The heritage room had a good view of the hills and has a large open space in the children's park.
