About Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle (Museum of Natural History)

The Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle is one of the most informative places to visit in Geneva. Covering a vast variety of topics, right from the origin of the universe to fossils, dinosaurs, geology, and animal kingdom, the Museum of Natural History is a fascinating place, not only for students but for visitors across all ages. It is no wonder that this place is a hotspot for families, especially on weekends.

Explore the geology of the Lac Léman region of Geneva, dig dip into the history of the Earth, learn about fossils, development of civilisation, animals, and a lot more! Spread across 10,000 square meters, the museum spans five floors.

The first two floors are dedicated entirely to the flora and fauna, both native as well as exotic. The top floor is assigned to the geographical sciences and the development of human civilisation over the years. Descriptions are mainly written in French, but you can request a pamphlet in English at the reception.
